With the purpose of perpetuating the ideal Peruvian Horse in all of its exquisite qualities, Marco Dapelo has been breeding and raising this noble horse breed since 1968, at the age of 10 years old, in Lima Peru.

Marco, proudly announces the opening of his dream: “Criadero El Refugio USA”, which is located in north Texas, off of Hwy. FM 51, just 3 miles north of the beautiful historical City of Granbury.

“Criadero El Refugio” is on 29 acres of beautiful coastal pastures overlooking the Granbury Lake. We are about one hour south west of the DFW International Airport and 40 minutes from the John Justin Arena – where the US National Peruvian Horse Shows are held.

In Addition we offer:

*Judging.-  with more than 40 years of experience,Marco is a carded judge in Peru and in the United States and offer his judging services to all clubs.

*Quality horses for sale. -   All ages.  Carefully selected.

*Full service Boarding.-  Excellent Management……..

*Foaling, care and imprinting.-  All mares are handled with special care and affection to bring the best of the disposition to the new born……..

*Training all Levels.-  All the horses are trained in the Classical Style to maintain and enhance their natural gait.

*Showing &/or Show Preparation.-   We show to enjoy and make the horse enjoy their ride.

*Riding Instruction.-   Riders can enjoy moments of learning & schooling.
